Zack Finch, 26, was killed leaving the Stone Pony at 1:15 am on July 8th in a tragic motor vehicle accident. A member of The Gallows, Benchpress 3000, and The Sirs, Zack was well known by many in the Central NJ scene. Yet his circle of friends and loved ones reached far beyond the punk scene, as over 900 people gathered to pay their respects during his wake and funeral. He certainly lived up to the tattoo that he bore on his arm: "Live Fast, Die Awesome!" He was an amazing Chef, working at the prestigious Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, NJ. He was also an avid fly fisherman, fishing whenever possible in any body water he could get too. Not to mention, a great guitarist/songwriter, not only writing songs for his aforementioned bands, but for others as well. On the wall of Zack's bedroom hung a sign that said "A Friend is Someone With Whom You Dare to Be Yourself." Nothing could be truer when it came to Zack. He was a friend to anyone who met him, even for the briefest of moments. Always willing to lend a hand, a dollar, or a joke to anyone who needed it. Zack was himself with from the moment he met anyone, and anyone who had the pleasure to meet him knew immediately that he was simply one of a kind. |
