Designed by Zak Kaplan at Rogue State Design
For those of you who were lucky enough to catch the Souls, at their 3 night stint at the legendary Stone Pony a couple weeks ago, you probably already picked up one of these posters. What do Minneapolis, MN and New Brunswick, NJ have in common? Probably very little...until now! This split release brings together two up and coming poppy punk bands - both sharing a commitment to the DIY scene, getting drunk, self-destruction, and catchy tunes. |

Last month the New Jersey Punk Community lost a dear friend, Zack Finch. So many people cared about him and are trying to help his family in their time of need. They asked us to help. It's not a situation where you feel like there's anything you can do besides let them all know that you care and raise some money so they at least don't have to think about that. So....... here's what we're gonna do:
- Chunksaah has 3 wednesday "Punk Nights" at the Asbury Lanes left this summer. For each paying person, we're going to give $1 to his
family.
- Also at Punk Night...we're going to set up a merch table with Chunksaah releases and some stuff we got from Epitaph and other people...so buy something and we'll donate the money.
- And then...we're going to auction off two pairs of tickets to the August 18th Court Tavern show with The Bouncing Souls/Lifetime/The Ergs/Static |
Radio NJ to the highest bidder. This is the hottest ticket in town (and probably the hottest, sweatiest show ever...) and for a good cause...so dig deep and show your Jersey pride.
Here are the links to the auctions:
AUCTION 1 | AUCTION 2
Auctions end Saturday August 18th.
>> Click here to learn more about Zack Finch
Chunksaah Records will also be accepting donations for Zack Finch's family through PayPal. As with all orders on our site there is a 25% fee added on so please keep that in mind when deciding the amount you'd like to donate...100% of all monies donated (minus Paypal fees) goes directly to the family. Please use the "Make A Donation" button below.

THE LOW BUDGETS
"Leave Us A Loan" CD - 08.21.07
On the very last day of the last Dead Milkmen tour, Chris Peelout met milkman Joe Jack Talcum outside while a fire was being extinguished inside. A year later Chris showed up at Joe's West Philadelphia apartment claiming to be homeless and that night they wrote their first song together, eventually forming THE LOW BUDGETS along with Steve Please and Dandrew This.
“Minimal effort equals maximum pleasure” is THE LOW BUDGETS credo and this Philly four-piece are |
serious about being laidback. Songs about pizza menus, beer bellies, and “livin’ la vida broka”, Leave Us A Loan, with its Devo meets Descendents attitude, showcases the bands urgency to shake your booty while you save your looty. Viva la value-rock!

THE WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY
"Addicted To Bad Ideas " CD/LP - 09.11.07
THE WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY: your circus-related, punk-rockety orcestra gang from Brooklyn, New York! You know: overdressed boys/girls, double digits, capable of startling aggression, making punk a treat again for more than 10 years now? More a tribe than a band, really. Well, they've worked out this mathematical equation reconciling bravery, idealism and fun, and they'd like to show you an example. Punk rockers armed with orchestra elucidate the 20th century through the life of world-battered, morphine-crazed, tragi-comic character actor Peter Lorre, from whose laconic |
idealism WORLD/INFERNO seems to have taken most of their career cues. The manically beautiful song "Spiel" trips through vampires, Berlin, strings, horns, anti-fascist action, '40's Hollywood, piano, guitar, drums and heroism with a good criminal heart and a smile for which to die.

FROM THE DESK OF K8 IS GREAT...
So...round about 13 or 14 years ago (when some of you were in grade school still...) me and THE SOULS and all of our peeps (like Lamar Vannoy and Timmy Chunks and Johnny X and.....) would get together once a week for BORF & BOWL. After work (at the White Lotus Futon shop...) we would all roll over to my apartment in New Brunswick and I would make a big pile of vegetarian food and we would sit around and eat and have a couple beers until it was all gone and we were all borfed (so full you don't really want to move...). Then we would pile in "the Hovel Pod" or a couple of cars and go bowling for a few hours at a nearby alley. Sometimes it would be on a Tuesday and then we would go to 80's night at the
Melody Bar afterwards.... We did this every week we weren't on tour for about 2 years......
So it isn't without nostalgia that we decided to re-live our youth a little bit by Chunksaah taking over Punk Night at the Asbury Lanes for the summer. I live up the street and so I will cook up some big piles of vegetarian food for y'all and you can bowl while you rock out to some great bands that we lined up and some new kids to support. We were all young punks just starting out once and they deserve your attention. We will have a good time. In the immortal words of my fellow Jerseyan Mr. Ted Leo "if I told you I felt ageless, would you tell me I'm not old?" I fend to re-live my youth this summer and i hope you will join me.
Just to entice you a little bit more to come out.....The Bouncing Souls themselves are going to make an appearance this summer. They will come to Borf and Bowl and rock on August 22nd (the week of Pete and Greg's birthdays...). The catch is this: you can only buy tickets at Punk Night. We will make a limited number available each week from June 27 until August 15 and you can only buy 'em if you come and make the scene with us. It's a little exclusive, sure...but in a local pride sort of way. and isn't that what this is all about? Having the best summer ever with your best friends?
Check out the schedule and come down to hang out!

Love,
K8

World/Inferno Friendship Society
working on punk-rock opera following Peter Lorre's life.
Brooklyn punk legends W/IFS join forces with Caden Manson (Artistic Director, Big Art Group), one of contemporary theater’s brightest young visionaries, to create a punk-rock opera for the times. Continuing
|
the charge in the evolution of the genre via the ultimate 20th century archetype of alienation, Peter Lorre, WIFS dedicate a furious song cycle following Lorre’s unheralded existence from his days with Wedekind and Brecht through the cycle of World Wars to a pitiless fall from grace in the drug-infused quagmire of Hollywood vines. Led by the inimitable Jack Terricloth, WIFS paint a picture of the twentieth century from the outsider’s eye via a multi-media spectacle. Premiering in Fall 2007 in conjunction with the Chunksaah Records release of the recorded song cycle, one of America’s finest progressive punk bands bring their unique vision from the clubs to the stage for the first time.
W/IFS are leaving for Europe today!
